Iconic Patagonian Adventure
Embark on an unforgettable journey to one of Patagonia’s most renowned landmarks with our Trekking to Base Torres tour. This full-day adventure begins with an early morning departure from your accommodation in Punta Arenas, setting off towards the majestic Torres del Paine National Park.
Upon arrival at the park’s entrance, we’ll commence our trek along the well-marked trail leading to the Base Torres viewpoint. The hike is approximately 19 kilometers round trip and is considered of medium-high difficulty, requiring good physical condition.
The trail is divided into three distinct sections:
- Ascencio Valley: The trek starts with a steady ascent through the Ascencio Valley, crossing the Ascencio River via a suspension bridge. This section offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
- Chilean Refugio to Torres Camp: The path continues through a lush native forest, providing a moderate incline and a chance to observe local flora and fauna.
- The Moraine: The final and most challenging segment involves a steep climb over a rocky moraine leading to the Base Torres viewpoint.
Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the three granite towers (Central, Monzino, and Dagostini) towering over a glacial lagoon—a sight that epitomizes the rugged beauty of Patagonia.
After ample time to rest, take photos, and enjoy a boxed lunch (not included), we’ll begin our descent along the same trail, returning to our starting point. From there, we’ll board our vehicle for the journey back to Punta Arenas, arriving in the late evening.
